Children were also gifted easter eggs, blankets and cuddly toys to brighten up their Easter weekend.
Children in hospital over Easter at Nottingham University Hospitals got a virtual visit from the Easter Bunny.
The Play Specialist Team at Nottingham Children’s Hospital organised for the bunny to appear live online, on a laptop, at the bedside of 33 children.
The Easter shows were hosted by Spread A Smile, a Charity that provides entertainment and support to children, young people and families receiving treatment in hospital and at home.
Spread A Smile also sent more than a 100 Easter eggs, 90 blankets and 150 bars of chocolate for children on wards to enjoy.
The organisation also says it helped organise regular virtual entertainment sessions during the pandemic including a virtual Santa’s Grotto, and special virtual activities over school holidays.
Visiting restrictions during the pandemic mean many hospitals have limited the number of visitors to clinical areas.

As well as seeing the Easter Bunny, 6-year-old Joe (pictured) also took part in a mini magic show.
Laura Walter, Director of Services at Spread A Smile said: “We’ve been working with the team at Nottingham for over a year now, providing regular virtual entertainment sessions to patients on the wards, as well as supporting with virtual events, such as the Easter Bunny experience, our virtual Santa’s Grotto, and special virtual activities over school holidays.
“We also support with regular ‘treat drops’, such as Easter eggs, Christmas gifts, cosy blankets and Halloween packs, to help the hospital environment feel more child-friendly and less clinical.’
Notts County Football Club also delivered hundreds of Easter eggs, cuddly toys and chocolate bars; many of which were dropped off at collection points by fans.
Commercial and Fan Engagement Executive, Alice Kelk, told us supporting the community is very important to them: “Notts County Football Club is all about community and helping where we can. It is so important. There are people that are in a lot of need and we are always there to support where we can.
