Temperatures have soared to 38 degrees in some parts of the UK.

Healthcare workers are feeling the heat today with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees in some parts of the UK.

One Midlands hospital has said ‘thank you’ to its staff for providing “exceptional care to patients”, despite the hot weather by rewarding their hard work with free ice-cream.

The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust recruited the “best ice cream vans in Derbyshire and Staffordshire” to visit each of their five hospital sites today.

The trusts charity arranged and funded the kind gesture.
