NHS Professionals have announced a significant change to how fast its workers get paid.
NHS Professionals has announced it will be moving from a ten-day to a five-day pay cycle – meaning bank workers will get paid faster for shifts.
The agency claims that although a survey of workers showed that many bank staff were satisfied with the current 10-day payroll cycle, over 5800 bank members were either unhappy with the frequency of pay or not satisfied with the current 10-day payroll cycle.
From the 14th of October 2018 timesheets that are released by 23:59 pm on a Sunday will be paid the following Friday.
The change will allow ward managers and nursing leaders a few days to authorise their timesheets. However, NHSP warns that managers should allow bank staff enough time to release their timesheets before the cut-off.
NHS Professionals is the publicly owned staffing agency that is used by a multitude of NHS trusts in the UK.
The change will not affect Medical and Dental staff groups and you can view more information and FAQs about the changes on the NHS Professionals website.
