One Midlands hospital has said ‘thank you’ to its staff for providing “exceptional care to patients”, despite the hot weather by rewarding their hard work with free ice-cream.
The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust recruited the “best ice cream vans in Derbyshire and Staffordshire” to visit each of their five hospital sites today.
The trusts charity arranged and funded the kind gesture.
Cathy Winfield, Executive Chief Nurse at UHDB, said: “Our staff are doing a fantastic job to continue providing exceptional care to our patients, despite the hot weather.
“As a small token of our appreciation, we’ve managed to track down the best ice cream vans in Derbyshire and Staffordshire to visit each of our five sites so that our staff can enjoy a free ice cream.
“Thank you to the Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity for arranging and funding this gesture.”
